Christmas (un)wrap-up

Hi Friends. Hope Santa Paws was good to you. He sure was to us. We got new stuffies from Mommy and Daddy. No picture, but some yummy treats from our human grandmother. And a bag from our good friend Miss Cathy
It had more stuffies and some good treats.
Leo must be insulted that these treats are not for him.
Look at my new slipper.
Tucker says, finally I get to spend time with my football.
Leo says, is there anything else under here?
The other thing we got is some snow, but no pictures yet, Mommy said it was too cold to go out and play for too long.
Hope Santa Paws was good to you too.

Merry Christmas

Hi to all our blog friends. If you didn't get a Christmas card from us, this is what it looked like this year.We had our picture taken with Santa Paws a couple of weeks ago and Mommy was going to use that picture on our card, but when it came she didn't like it, she said we didn't look happy. What do you think?
We hope all our friends have a great Christmas and that Santa Paws brings you lots of great stuff.

Urgent Power of the Paw Needed.

We have heard from our good friend the Luke's (link here) Aunt Karen that he is not feeling well right now.Don't know all the details, but his cancer seems to have metastasized to other organs. Please, please send him some good vibes. The posts on his blog are older, but we are sure if you comment on them, he and his mom will know everyone is thinking of them.

My mom went on vacation and all I got...

Well, not really but on Friday mom went to the Equine Affaire all day and left us all alone. She didn't get home until after midnight. (Well maybe not all alone, Dad was home a lot of the day, and we love him, but really.)

And did she think of us? We don't think so. I mean she did bring home these samples:
And these, pretty yummy.
And we did get new bandannas, thanks to our human grandma for getting one so we could have matching ones.
But she came home smelling of lots of horses, she couldn't possibly have been missing us enough.

Present from Farley

When Mommy came home yesterday she had a big envelope addressed to us. In the envelope were these cute stuffies with a nice note from our friend Farley.Mommy tried to give us each one, but Daisy completed her plan for world domination and grabbed both of them.
So Tucker was Tucker and waited patiently.
But sometimes we can share.
Thanks Farley. We love our new stuffies (and Tucker got to play eventually.)

Sunday stroll

It's a nice fall day here, so Mommy took us for a nice walk.Tucker running off leash.
Tucker enjoying a good roach.
There are no off leash pictures of Daisy because she broke the off leash rules and ran and ran without checking in with Mom, so we got put back on leash. Tucker says "Stupid Daisy".

(Note from Mom- we have a 200 acre back yard at the house we rent, so they are pretty safe off leash, but I still worry when I don't see them for too long.)

We interrupt our regularly scheduled blogging...

To ask you to visit our friend, Mogley G. Retriever, at "A Dog's Life, the real story." (link here)Mogley is a handsome fellow who was rescued from the kill table by Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies: GRRR, and he and his family will be highlighting all of the dogs they have fostered since meeting Mogley. We hope if you don't know Mogley already you will stop by and read his inspiring story, and follow along about all the great work his family does.

What we saw on our walk today

We went for a nice early morning walk. The trees are starting to change color. They are early this year because we had a hot dry summer.
Remember Daisy's friend from our Staycation a couple of weeks ago? She came up to the fence line to say hi this morning.
Here we are, home and happy.
P.S. Yesterday we were sitting on the trail behind our house waiting for Mommy to stop looking in the grape vines for grapes to make jelly with and take us for the rest of our walk.

Our Staycation

Tucker the Great Dane is hosting a Staycation contest, so we thought we would enter. Follow the link above to see the details.

We stayed very close to home and walked to the local Wildlife Management Area. We have walked around on the roads, but never went in before.
It was an absolutely beautiful day in Massachusetts
The birds were having a great time enjoying the wind to float around.
This is the hill heading up into the section of the Management area we explored.
That led to this set of paths through the meadow.
Looking back, you could see the hills. Mommy had fun with the panorama function on her camera.
It was cool and breezy today, but after all that walking, we needed a bit of a rest.
And a water break.
We headed out into the woods.
We got a bit lost, but no worries. Mommy has a good sense of direction, and then we found a stone wall to follow. Practical New England farmers don't build walls unless there is somewhere for them to go, so we followed it back to the road.
On the way, there was much interesting pee-mail to read.
When we got back to the road, we walked on home. On the way, Daisy made a new friend.
Isn't she a cutie?
Hope all our friends are having a great weekend like us.
